A Group Exhibition Titled:
“The Memory of Unread Poems”
Artist Statement:
What becomes of a poem when it is detached from the pages of a book?
Can a poem be seen?
Can an image evoke something from literature that words alone can no longer express?
“The Memory of Unread Poems” serves as a dialogue between our recollections of words and images, narrative and form, reading and seeing. It perhaps alludes to poems that were never read—yet have persisted within our collective memory—now returning in the form of images.
Perhaps every work of art is a silent crystallization of words; every text, an image that has not yet had the chance to be seen.
