“Ribbon Tehran Art Nights”: A Space for Viewing, Dialogue, and Narrating Contemporary Iranian Art
The inaugural installment of this series, titled “Hope Still Sprouts,” was held at Ribbon Tehran. It featured a curated selection of paintings and sculptures by artists including Ali Akbar Sadeghi, Nikzad Nodjoumi, Parvaneh Etemadi, Farideh Lashai, and other contemporary Iranian artists.
Alongside the exhibition, the event included talks by Maryam Esfandiari (the exhibition’s curator), painter and researcher Behrang Samadzadegan, and Maryam Moshtaghi (co-founder and Executive Vice President of Ribbon Tehran), ensuring that dialogue became an integral part of the audience’s engagement with the artworks.
“Art Nights” stems from Ribbon’s broader perspective on culture and art. It serves as a specialized hub for selecting, curating, and developing art projects, crafting a cohesive experience that weaves together artworks, narratives, space, and the audience—all within an exclusive, carefully selected setting deeply connected to architecture, culture, and Ribbon’s community.
“Hope Still Sprouts” marked the first chapter of this journey. Moving forward, Ribbon’s future endeavors will introduce fresh narratives, diverse artists, and new works, with the ultimate vision of establishing Ribbon as a dedicated space for dialogue, curation, and the emergence of new movements within contemporary Iranian art.
